Man charged in Sexual Assault investigation,

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a Sexual Assault investigation.
It is alleged that:
- An international student befriended a man who claimed he could help her establish bank accounts in Canada
- On Friday, November 15, 2019, the woman travelled into Toronto from another province to meet the man at a hotel room
- Once in the room, she was sexually assaulted
- The man took pictures of her
- He threatened both her and her family
Gurpinder Singh, 28, of Brampton, has been arrested and charged with:
1) Sexual Assault
2) Uttering a Death Threat
Officers are concerned there may be other victims.
Anyone who has been a victim of a sexual offence should report it to police. Investigators want to remind people that they will not be questioned on their immigration status as part of this report.
