Three Young Offenders Arrested for Armed Robberies in GTA,
Latest Arrest in January 2020

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of three youths arrested for a series of carjacking robberies and an armed retail robbery that occurred in June 2019.

It is alleged that:

- between Friday, June 7, 2019 and Saturday, June 15, 2019, a group of men committed four carjacking robberies in the Greater Toronto Area

- in each carjacking, two of the men would approach the victim

- they then forcefully take the vehicle's keys and drive the victim's vehicle away

- in one of the incidents, a man used a 'Taser'-style weapon on the victim


It is further alleged that:

- on Monday, June 17, 2019, three men committed an armed retail robbery at the in the Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street area

- the men entered the store while wearing masks in an attempt to disguise their identities

- the men were carrying handguns which they pointed at the victim

- the men took cash and cellular phones before fleeing the scene in one of the vehicles they had stolen in a previous carjacking

Through the investigation the men were identified and arrested. Officers recovered two imitation firearms.

On Thursday, January 2, 2019, a 17-year-old boy, of Brampton, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. five counts of Robbery
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Use Imitation Firearm during Commission of Indictable Offence
4. Possession of Weapon
5. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
6. two counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance
7. eleven counts of Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, January 3, 2020, at 10 a.m.


On Wednesday, June 26, 2019, a 15-year-old boy, of Brampton was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Use Imitation Firearm during Commission of Indictable Offence
4. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over
5. Fail to Comply YCJA

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, June 27, 2019, at 10 a.m.

On Wednesday, July 24, 2019, a 15-year-old boy, of Brampton was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Use Imitation Firearm during Commission of Indictable Offence
4. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 10 a.m.
