The Toronto Police Service would like to inform the public of a stabbing and shooting investigation in the area of York University.

On Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at 10:09 p.m, police were called to the area of Leitch Avenue and Assiniboine Road for a stabbing.

It is reported that:

- a 23-year-old woman was walking on a pathway on the York University Campus.

- a man assaulted her, knocking her to the ground and dragged her a short distance.

- she received wounds to her body.

- she was transported to hospital with life threatening injuries. She remains in hospital.

Through investigation, it has been determined the victim was both stabbed and shot.

The suspect is currently still at large and firearm has not yet been recovered.

The suspect is described as Asian, early to mid 20s, 5’9" to 5’11", 170 to 190 lbs, with black hair, and was wearing “stylish” glasses and a black puffy jacket.
