The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in relation to a retail robbery that occurred in the Queen Street West and Dunn Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- at approximately 1:25 p.m., on Friday, May 1, 2020, a man entered the store carrying a broom with a nail sticking out the end

- the man approached the checkout counter and made a demand for cash

- the man walked behind the counter and began to struggle with the employee

- the man took a quantity of cash and then fled the area on foot

Responding officers arrived on scene and located and arrested a man.

Evens Bazelais Itil, 26, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1) Robbery with an Offensive Weapon

He was scheduled to appear in court on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 10 a.m., at Old City Hall, Room 101
