Updated Suspect Description

The Toronto Police Service continues to request the public's assistance identifying a man involved in an assault with a weapon investigation.

On Sunday, May 10, 2020, at approximately 8:15 p.m., officers attended an assault call in the Ellesmere Road and Orton Park Road area.

It is reported that:

- a man was walking through a field in the area

- the man was struck in the head by an unknown suspect with a hammer

- the suspect fled the scene

The suspect is described as a man, 5'10", in his mid 20s, brown complexion, with black wavy hair. He was last seen wearing a black winter jacket, dark coloured track pants, and a distinctive dark coloured backpack.

The backpack is described as a hiking-style bag and is fairly large, reaching shoulder to shoulder in width, and neck to waist in height.

Investigators continue to appeal for information and urge anyone who recognizes the suspect's description to contact police.
