Three Men Arrested in Retail Robbery investigation,
Brimley Road and Progress Avenue

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of three arrests made in relation to a retail robbery that occurred on Thursday, February 6, 2020 in the Brimley Road and Progress Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, February 6, 2020, a telecommunication retail store robbery was committed in the Brimley Road and Progress Avenue area.

- three men forced their way into the store through an employee-only entrance

- the men took physical control of the store employees, beat them to the ground and dragged them into the back room.

- two of the men tied the victims’ hands and feet while the third man duct taped their mouths and put plastic bags over their faces

- the men took a significant quantity of merchandise from the storage room

- in their attempt to flee, they crashed the getaway vehicle in the area and then ran away on foot

Hold Up Squad investigators were able to identify three men.

On Monday, June 1, 2020, a search warrant was executed and Michael Boakye-Agyemang, 22, and Rexford Boakye-Agyemang, 23, were arrested.

It is further alleged:

- a large amount of cash, store merchandise, fake IDs and credit cards - along with a quantity of Fentanyl - were found during the execution of the warrant

On Wednesday, June 3, 2020 a second search warrant was executed and Ovie Eyamaro, 24, was arrested.

Michael Boakye-Agyemang, 22, of Brampton, has been charged with the following:

1) Robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Conspiracy to commit an Indictable offence
4) Possession of proceeds of Crime

Rexford Boakye-Agyemang, 23, of Brampton, has been charged with the following:

1) Robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Conspiracy to commit an Indictable offence
4) Possession of proceeds of Crime
5) Possession of a Schedule I substance


Ovie Eyamaro, 24, of Brampton, has been charged with the following:

1) Robbery
2) Disguise with Intent
3) Conspiracy to commit an Indictable offence

All three men were scheduled to appear at court on Thursday, June 4, 2020, at 10 a.m., at 1911 Eglinton Avenue East, room 412.
