The Toronto Police Service requests the public’s assistance locating an elopee.

Tesfaye Asefa, 41, was last seen on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at approximately 1:10 p.m., in the Queen Street West and Ossington Avenue area.

Tesfaye Asefa is described as 5'7", 194 lbs., medium build, with short black hair, and a short beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red multi-coloured plaid short-sleeve shirt, and burgundy shoes.

He is currently bound by a Form 49 "Warrant of Committal."

In April 2011, he was found Not Criminally Responsible for two counts of Sexual Assault.

An elopee is a person who is subject to detention at a psychiatric facility and is absent without leave.

A Warrant of Committal is issued by the Ontario Review Board when a person is found Not Criminally Responsible in court. The Warrant of Committal "Disposition of Detention" commits the person to the custody of a provincial psychiatric hospital and subjects them to abide by certain conditions.
