The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest made in relation to a homicide investigation.
It is alleged that:
- on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at approximately 6 p.m., police were called to the Chester Le Boulevard area for a shooting
- three men were outside a residence
- two suspects approached them and began shooting
- the two suspects fled the area in a vehicle occupied by two other male suspects
On Saturday, April 15, 2017 police were called to the area of Chester Le Boulevard for a sounds of gunshots call.
Samatar Farah, 24, of Toronto, was found and was identified as the victim of Homicide #15/2017.
The Saturday, April 13, 2017 shooting and the Monday, April 15, 2017, homicide were linked.
On Thursday, June 29, 2017, investigators from TPS Homicide, with the assistance of other TPS officers and the Ottawa Police Service, executed 11 Criminal Code search warrants in Toronto and Ottawa.
As a result, Taufiq Stanley, 20, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
1. three counts of Attempted Murder
2. First degree murder
A Warrant in the First Instance was issued for Alexander Fountain of Toronto.
On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, the Toronto Police Service Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force executed an unrelated search warrant in the Whitchurch-Stouffville area.
While executing the search warrant, a man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for the homicide of Samatar Farah was located inside.
Alexander Fountain, now 29, of Toronto, was arrested. He was charged with:
1. First Degree Murder
2. three counts of Attempt Murder
He is to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, July 29, 2020.
