The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest in two homicide investigations.

Homicide #77/2018,
Bellamy Road North and Cedar Brae Boulevard area

On Friday, September 14, 2018, at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call in the Bellamy Road North and Cedar Brae Boulevard area.

Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old boy, with a gunshot wound, who was without vital signs. Officers began lifesaving efforts. The victim was taken via emergency run to hospital where he was pronounced a short time later.

He has been identified as Elijah Aziavor, 16, of Toronto.


Homicide #78/2018,
4559 Sheppard Avenue East

On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at 9:37 p.m., police responded to a shooting at 4559 Sheppard Avenue East.

Officers arrived on scene and located a man with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced at the scene.

He has been identified as Jago Anderson, 19, of Toronto.


On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, Jatorri Williams, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged in relation to Homicide #78/2018 with:

1. Second Degree Murder


On Thursday, September 24, 2020, Jatorri Williams was arrested and charged in relation to Homicide #77/2018 with:

1. First Degree Murder
2. Discharge Firearm being Reckless as to Life or Safety of Another Person
3. Discharge Firearm into a Place Reckless to Others


In consultation with the Crown Attorney's office, at Toronto East Courts, the new charges will be prosecuted with the second degree murder charge from the homicide on September 18, 2018.

He is scheduled to appear in court remotely on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Toronto East Courts.
