Public Safety Alert,
Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area,
Theft of firearm

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a quantity of ammunition and a firearm theft investigation.

It is reported that:

- on Sunday, October 11, 2020, at approximately 2:30 a.m., a suspect stole a registered and legally owned Norinco Type 81 S rifle plus 60 rounds of ammunition in the Warden Avenue and Lawrence Avenue East area

The firearm has a locking mechanism on it to prevent the trigger from being pulled and was stored in a firearm bag. The ammunition was stored in a steal lock-box.

A photograph of the firearm and security camera image of the suspect has been released.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
