The Toronto Police Service's Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a home invasion robbery.

The incident occurred on Sunday, October 11, 2020, in the Lakeshore Boulevard West and Twenty Sixth Street

It is alleged that:

- a man entered an apartment

- the man demanded money from a 68-year-old man inside the apartment and repeatedly assaulted him causing severe facial injuries

- then the man attempted to tie the victim up

- the man took some valuables and fled the area on foot

Hold Up Squad investigators determined the identity of a suspect.

On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, Andre Gomez-Bonner, 27, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Robbery with Violence
2. Break & Enter Commit
3. Forcible Confinement
4. Assault causing Bodily Harm
5. Theft Over
6. two counts of Fail to Comply Probation Order

He appeared in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 10 a.m., in room 206.
