On Saturday October 24, 2020, at 4:21 p.m., police received a report of a collision between a motor vehicle and a pedestrian on Christie Street south of Dupont Street.
It is reported that:
- a 71-year-old man was operating a 2015 Ford minivan northbound on Christie Street
- a 73-year-old woman was on the east sidewalk south of the intersection of Christie Street and Dupont Street
- the Ford minivan suddenly mounted the curb striking the 73-year-old woman who was seated outside of a local business
- she suffered significant injuries, was transported to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.
Police are asking local residents, business, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
