The Toronto Police Service's Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest in relation to a series of retail robberies across downtown Toronto.

It is alleged that:

- from Wednesday, October 14, 2020 to Sunday, November 8, 2020 a man entered four stores

- every time he would go behind the counter

- he assaulted the clerks and grabbed cash and other items

- he would then flee the store before police arrived


On Friday, November 13, 2020, John Perry, 52, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

1. four counts of Robbery
2. Theft Under $5000
3. five counts of Fail to Comply Recognizance

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 10 a.m., room 112.
