Three arrests made in bakery Shooting Investigation,
Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue area,
Illia Ayo, 18, and two 16-year-old boys face multiple charges

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of three arrests for a shooting that injured six people outside a bakery.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at approximately 2:04 a.m., police responded to a shooting in the Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- a black vehicle drove past a bakery and discharged multiple rounds toward it

- six people who were at the business suffered gunshot wounds. None of the injuries were deemed to be life-threatening

- the vehicle then fled in a westbound direction

Through investigation, members of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force – Centralized Shooting Response Team arrested Illya Ayo, 18, and two 16-year-old boys.

Illia Ayo, 18, of London, has been charged with:

1. six counts of Aggravated Assault
2. Discharge Firearm Recklessly
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
6. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
7. Careless Storage of a Firearm
8. Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Toronto North Courts, 1000 Finch Avenue West, room 306.

A 16-year-old boy, of Brampton, has been charged with:

1. six Counts of Aggravated Assault
2. Discharge Firearm Recklessly
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
6. Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
7. Careless Storage of a Firearm
8. Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000

He appeared in court on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Toronto West Courts, 2201 Finch Avenue West, room 206.

A 16-year-old boy, of Toronto, has been charged with:

1. six Counts of Aggravated Assault
2. Discharge Firearm Recklessly
3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4. Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
6. Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
7. Careless Storage of a Firearm
8. Possession of Property Obtained By Crime Over $5000

He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday, November 16, 2020, at 10 a.m., at Toronto West Courts, 2201 Finch Avenue West, Room 206.
