Multiple arrests made at illegal Gaming House,
Dundas Street West and Spadina Avenue area,
Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act charges also laid

Members of the Toronto Police Service’s 14 Division Major Crime Unit have charged multiple people after an illegal gaming house was uncovered.

On Friday, January 29, 2021 at approximately 8:08 p.m. officers attended an address for reports of a person with a gun in the Dundas Street and Spadina Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- officers arrived on scene, contained the area and entered the basement

- once inside, officers discovered 14 people and evidence of illegal gaming

- a quantity of cash was recovered

The province is currently under a provincial Stay-at-Home order and investigators laid charges against 14 people both under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act (EMCPA) as well as the Criminal Code.

Chung Tseung, 53, of Toronto, was charged with:

Yi-Mie Chen, 38, of Mississauga, was charged with:

Li Na Huang, 40, of Toronto, is now facing the following charge:

1. Being found in a betting or gambling house

Lixian Chen, 30, of Markham, is now facing the following charge:

1. Being found in a betting or gambling house

Bing Lin, 41, of Markham, is now facing the following charge:

1. Being found in a betting or gambling house

A-chi Hoac, 62, of Oakville, is now facing the following charge:

Shunying, Chen, 42, of Toronto, is now facing the following charge:

Tra-My, Pham, 46, of Mississauga, is now facing the following charge:

Mong Ha, Liew, , 51 of Mississauga, is now facing the following charge:

Fung-Sin Wong, 56, of Markham, is now facing the following charge:

Yiyong, Liu, 44, of Whitby, is now facing the following charge:

Wenfeng, Cai, 48, of Toronto, is now facing the following charge:

Cuifang, Dong, 42, of Toronto, is now facing the following charge:

Yachao, Chen, 30, of Toronto, is now facing the following charge:

This remains an ongoing investigation and officers from the Financial Crimes Unit - Asset Forfeiture section have been assisting with the large amount of seized money obtained in the arrest.
