The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a suspect as part of a robbery and assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

- on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 1:30 a.m., a woman was on the west bound TTC train from Bay Station

- a man approached the woman, sat down next to her and began yelling at her

- the woman tried to leave and the man hit the woman repeatedly with his hands

- the man grabbed the woman's purse and fled the train when it got to the Bedford Road and St. George Station stop

The suspect is described as male, black, 5'8, with a skinny build.

He was wearing a black hooded jacket, blue surgical mask, and dark pants.
