The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest in a retail robbery investigation.

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, a retail store robbery was committed in the McCowan Road and Kingston Road area.

It is alleged that:

- a man entered the store and asked an employee for assistance

- the man selected several items off the store shelves

- he then began yelling and swearing at the employee

- he started to walk out of the store without paying for the items

- he then rushed toward the employee and violently threw them to the ground

- he broke the security alarm bar as he exited the store and fled the area on foot

Officers from 43 Division quickly responded and located a man nearby.

On Wednesday, March 24, 2021, Marius Guenette, 21, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Mischief Under
3. three counts of Fail to Comply Probation

He was scheduled to appear in court virtually at Toronto East Courts, 1911 Eglinton Avenue, on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 10 a.m., room 412.
