Two men and a woman arrested in retail robbery investigation,
Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West area

The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of three arrests in a retail robbery investigation.

On Tuesday, March 16, 2021, a retail robbery took place in the Bathurst Street and Sheppard Avenue West area.

It is alleged:

- two men and a woman entered a store wearing masks and approached the checkout counter posing as customers

- the woman showed the employee an item she wanted to purchase

- when the employee opened the cash register, one of the men pulled out a knife and pointed it at the employee and demanded cash

- the man then held the knife against the employee’s arm

- the two men and the woman took the cash before fleeing the scene on foot

The Hold Up Squad started an investigation and identified two men and woman.


On Thursday, March 25, 2021, James Hunter, 39, of Toronto was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Disguise With Intent
3. Weapons Dangerous

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 10 am

On Thursday, March 25, 2021, Nathan Hunter, 38, of Toronto was arrested. He is charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Disguise With Intent
3. Weapons Dangerous

He was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 10 am

On Thursday, March 25, 2021, Lan Chan, 45, of Toronto was arrested. She is charged with:

1. Robbery
2. Disguise With Intent
3. Weapons Dangerous

She was scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Friday, March 26, 2021, at 10 am
