The Toronto Police Service is investigating a collision where a motorcyclist died.
On Monday, August 30, 2021, at approximately 11 p.m., police received a report of a fatal motor vehicle collision in front of 1618 Bloor Street West.
It is reported that:
- a 34-year-old man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle westbound on Bloor Street West, west of Dorval Road
- a 56-year-old man was in a Toyota SUV when he pulled away from a parking spot, with the intention of travelling westbound
- the motorcycle struck the driver's side of the Toyota causing the rider to lose control, cross Bloor Street West and hit a parked van
- the rider suffered critical injuries and succumbed to the injuries on scene
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services. Police are interested in speaking to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, as well as local residents, businesses or drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident.
