Toronto Police Service Re-Opens Police Facilities to the Public, Tuesday, September 7, 2021

The Toronto Police Service’s response to the COVID-19 Pandemic has been based on public health guidelines that have allowed an adjustment to some services and business practices, while ensuring the health and safety of our community and our members.

On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, all Toronto Police Service Divisions and Traffic Services will open to the public daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

TPS Headquarters, located at 40 College Street, will be open to the public by appointment only, Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please note the TPS Museum and gift shop will remain closed until further notice.

COVID-19 screening protocols will be in place at all facilities and attendees will be required to wear a non-cloth level II mask (masks will be available at all facilities), complete a screening form and practice physical distancing. Members of the public are encouraged to continue utilizing online service options when possible.

The opening of these locations is to facilitate report-taking and other investigative or community safety needs. Restrictions continue to be in place for community rooms, in-person meetings, awards presentations, etc.

Records Release & Vulnerable Sector Checks

The Records Release Unit located at Headquarters will be providing in person service on an appointment basis. Please note Vulnerable Sector Checks will still have to be mailed in and appointments are not available for this service.

Property Unit

The Property Unit continues to be open, by appointment only, by calling 416-808-3750 or by email at pemu@torontopolice.on.ca.

Collision Reporting Centres

Collision Reporting Centres will be open Monday - Friday – 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday – 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Although facilities are re-opening, members of the public are reminded of the following:

-Several services are conveniently available online including Criminal Record Checks, Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check or Vulnerable Sector Screening Vulnerable Sector Screening Process, or by calling 416-808-8244, or by email at referencecheckprogram@torontopolice.on.ca.

-Our online reporting portal allows you to start a police report for many crimes such as Damage to Vehicle or Property under $5,000, Driving or Parking Complaints, Traffic Issues or Concerns, or Theft or Fraud Under $5,000. You can start your online report here: http://www.torontopolice.on.ca/core/.

-If you have a specific issue you would like to discuss, it is recommended you schedule a time with the appropriate member. You can call the front desk of any division to make these arrangements. The phone number for each division follows the same format, with the last four digits being the number of division, followed by two zeroes. As an example, the main number for 14 Division is 416-808-1400, the main number for 43 Division is 416-808-4300, etc.

-Anyone in a life or death emergency should always call 9-1-1
