The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a firearm investigation.

On Sunday, September 5, 2021, at 11:10 p.m., officers conducted a vehicle stop in the Queen Street West and Vanauley Street area.

It is alleged that:

- there was the strong odour of marijuana coming from the car

- three men located inside the vehicle were investigated

- a loaded firearm was located on one of the men

Jarick Mesinele, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and is charged with:

1) Possession of a Weapon
2) Carry Concealed Weapon
3) Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
4) Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
5) Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
6) Careless Storage of a Firearm
7) Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition

He appeared in court at Old City Hall on Monday, September 6, 2021, at 10 a.m., via video link.
