The Toronto Police Service is advising of a new arrest in connection with protests against an encampment clearing on July 21, 2021.
Investigators released images of eight people who are wanted for a variety of offences including possessing a dangerous weapon, assault with a weapon, assault and obstruction after crowds became hostile outside 14 Division Police Station.

It is alleged that:
- on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, officers were stationed out front of 14 Division
- officers attempted to arrest a person when a man intervened, preventing the officers from effecting the arrest
On Saturday, September 18, 2021, the man was identified and arrested.
Alaa Al Soufi, 29, of Toronto was charged with:
1. Obstruct Peace Officer
2. Fail to Comply with Conditions
He will attend court on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Old City Hall, courtroom 111, at 10 a.m.
