The Toronto Police Service is informing the public of arrests in a homicide investigation.

On Monday, July 5, 2021, the Toronto Police Service responded to a radio call for a shooting in the Keele Street and Finch Avenue West area.

It is reported:

- a 47-year-old man was involved in a verbal altercation inside a bar

- the man left the bar, and was followed by a man who shot him and fled the area

- the victim was taken to hospital via emergency run and remained in hospital on life support

On Sunday, July 18, 2021, Jason Cockburn, 47, of Toronto, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, Angel Ramirez Casanova, 22, of Woodbridge, and Yanique Ellison, 34, of Brampton were arrested. They are both charged with:

1. First Degree Murder

They were both scheduled to appear in court on Thursday October 7, 2021, at 10 a.m., at 1000 Finch Avenue West in Room 306.
