On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 1:58 p.m., police received a report of a personal injury collision involving a Toronto Transit Commission bus and a pedestrian near Lawrence Avenue West and Duplex Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 43-year-old driver was operating a Toronto Transit Commission bus eastbound on Lawrence Avenue West, west of Duplex Avenue

- an 86-year-old pedestrian was standing on the south sidewalk of Lawrence Avenue West

- the pedestrian entered the roadway, resulting in a collision with the passing bus

- as a result, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital.

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, business and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident to contact investigators.
