The Toronto Police Service is informing the public of a fatal collision.

On Saturday, December 18, 2021, at approximately 12:15 a.m., police responded to a collision in the Lawrence Avenue East and Pharmacy Avenue.

It is reported that:

- a 57-year-old woman was driving a blue Nissan Versa westbound on Lawrence Avenue East with the intent of turning left to southbound Pharmacy Avenue

- a 19-year-old man was driving a white Toyota Corolla eastbound on Lawrence Avenue East,
with a 24-year-old male passenger

- the Toyota entered the intersection striking the turning Nissan

- both vehicles suffered significant damage

- the woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. She succumbed to her injuries at hospital

- the driver and passenger of the Toyota were also transported to hospital with minor
injuries

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services. Police are interested in speaking anyone who may have witnessed the collision as well as local residents, businesses or drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident.
