Victim Services Toronto

Victim Crisis Response Program - assists people in crisis, 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the immediate aftermath of crime or tragedy.

Victim Quick Response Program - short-term (one to three months) Intensive Case Management Services to victims of major crimes and their families.

High Risk Support – for victims who are at a high risk of experiencing violence by an intimate ex-partner. Staff will work with the client(s) to create a comprehensive safety plan.

Community Crisis Response Programs - on-scene assistance with the emotional and practical needs of victims, coordinates access to medical care and necessary services and facilitates the relocation of community residents if needed.

Project TEAR (Teens Ending Abusive Relationships) - outreach program directed to youth12-18 years of age who are currently enrolled in middle and high schools throughout the General Toronto Area.


Victim Witness Assistance Program (V.W.A.P) including Special Prosecutions (G and G)

In cases where charges have been laid, to assist victims and witnesses prepare and be able to attend court and testify and coordinate with community support.

Mandate: child abuse, sexual assault, partner assault, attempt murder, families of homicide and traffic fatality victims, elderly, hate crimes and any victim with special needs. G and G VWAP assists with victims of gun and gang/organized crime related matters i.e. shootings, aggravated assault, human trafficking, home invasions, kidnapping/forcible confinement.

Victim Support Line

Part 1: Connects victims to support services in their area and answers about the Criminal Justice System - available 24/7

Part 2: Victims must register themselves with this line to receive information on adults who are being held on remands, warrants, sentenced and/or serving probation

Part 3: Call Block can block numbers from one particular jail or all jails where offenders may be calling victims or witnesses. Stops 3 way calls.

Victim Notification System - registry for offenders in Federal prison

Provides victims who have registered with the Parole Board of Canada or Correctional Service of Canada with information on a federal offender including start date and length of sentence, offence, eligibility and review dates of any release, parole hearing notifications, transfers and escapes
