The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad would like to make the public aware of an arrest made in a retail robbery investigation.

On Friday, April 9, 2021, officers responded to a call for a home invasion robbery in the Pape Avenue and Cosburn Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

- three people were inside a residence when a man knocked on the door and asked to be let in

- one person answered the door and refused to let the man in so he forced open the door

- the man pulled out a knife, pointed it at the person and made a demand for money

- at that time, all three people got into a struggle with the man

- the man stabbed one of the people in the arm and then fled the scene empty handed

The Toronto Police Hold-Up Squad began an investigation and identified a man.

On Tuesday, April 20, 2021, Yalcin Mirik, 35, of no fixed address, was arrested.
He is facing the following seven charges:

1. Robbery with Offensive Weapon
2. Break and Enter Commit
3. two counts of Assault
4. Assault with a Weapon
5. Weapons Dangerous
6. Carry Concealed Weapon

He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park Court on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 9:30 a.m., room 507.
