Four young people and two adults charged in shooting investigation,

The Toronto Police Service has made six arrests after a vehicle was stopped as part of a shooting investigation.

On Sunday, April 25, 2021, at 12:50 a.m., police were called for a shooting in the Jane Street and Grandravine Drive area.

It is alleged that:

- two people were standing in front of a community center when a car of six people stopped

- a male exited the vehicle and began shooting at the two

- several people heard the gunfire and called 9-1-1 with detailed vehicle information

Uniformed officers from 31 Division were dispatched to the call and while on route observed the suspect vehicle at the intersection of Finch Avenue West and Norfinch Drive.

Officers conducted a takedown and arrested everyone inside the vehicle.

It is further alleged that a loaded firearm was located by officers.

A warrant was obtained to search the vehicle and it is alleged that another loaded firearm was later located.

Two men and four boys were arrested.

Wassit Izaz, 18, of Toronto, and Moses Wright, 18, of Brampton, were each charged with:

1. Discharge Firearm With Intent To Wound, Endanger Life Or Prevent Arrest
2. Discharge Firearm Being Reckless As To The Life Or Safety Of Another Person
3. Aggravated Assault
4. Aggravated Assault
5. Point A Firearm
6. Occupy Motor Vehicle With Firearm, Etc.
7. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
8. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
9. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
10. Use/Handle/Store Ammunition Carelessly
11. Use/Handle/Store Firearm, Etc. Carelessly
12. Unlicenced Person Possess Prohib/Restricted Weapon
13. Occupy Motor Vehicle With Firearm, Etc.
14. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
15. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
16. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
17. Use/Handle/Store Firearm, Etc. Carelessly
18. Unlicenced Person Possess Prohib/Restricted Weapon
19. Possess Firearm With Altered Serial Number


A 15-year-boy, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, all of Toronto, and 16-year-old boy of Woodbridge, were each charged with:

1. Discharge Firearm With Intent To Wound, Endanger Life Or Prevent Arrest
2. Discharge Firearm Being Reckless As To The Life Or Safety Of Another Person
3. Aggravated Assault
4. Aggravated Assault
5. Point A Firearm
6. Occupy Motor Vehicle With Firearm, Etc.
7. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
8. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
9. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
10. Use/Handle/Store Ammunition Carelessly
11. Use/Handle/Store Firearm, Etc. Carelessly
12. Unlicenced Person Possess Prohib/Restricted Weapon
13. Occupy Motor Vehicle With Firearm, Etc.
14. Possess Loaded Regulated Firearm
15. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Without Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
16. Possess Restricted Or Prohibited Firearm Knowingly Not Holding A Licence And Registration Certificate
17. Use/Handle/Store Firearm, Etc. Carelessly
18. Unlicenced Person Possess Prohib/Restricted Weapon
19. Possess Firearm With Altered Serial Number

The 15-year-old boy was also additionally charged with:
1. Fail To Comply With YCJA Sentence - Probation
2. Possess Firearm, Etc. While Prohibited

Each appeared virtually at court at Old City Hall on Sunday, April 25, 2021, 10 a.m., room 114.
