The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance with an investigation into a personal injury collision.
On Friday, June 4, 2021, at 3:21 p.m., police received a report of a collision involving a motor vehicle and a cyclist in the Eglinton Avenue West and Scarlett Road area.
It is reported that:
- a 49-year-old man was operating a 2011 Honda Civic westbound on Eglinton Avenue West
- a 24-year-old man was riding a bicycle eastbound on a bicycle path, west of the intersection
- the cyclist attempted to cross Scarlett Road while riding on the path and was struck by the Honda which was making a left turn to travel southbound
- the cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.
Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
