The Toronto Police Service is investigating a collision where a pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries.
On Sunday, June 6, 2021 at approximately 10:24 p.m., police received a report of a personal injury collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at Jane Street and John Street.
It is alleged that:
- a 56-year-old man was driving a blue 2014 Toyota Corolla northbound on Jane Street at John Street
- a 67-year-old woman was crossing Jane Street on the north side of the intersection and was struck by this vehicle
- the pedestrian sustained serious life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital
On Sunday, June 6, 2021, Isaac Owusu, 56, of Toronto, was arrested. He is charged with:
1. Fail to Provide Breath Sample into an Approved Screening Device After an Accident Resulting in Bodily Harm
He is scheduled to appear in court at 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 2 p.m.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision continues by members of Traffic Services and further charges may be laid, depending on the investigative result.
Police are asking local residents, businesses and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators
