The Toronto Police Service Hold Up Squad is requesting the public’s assistance locating two men wanted in a retail robbery and kidnapping investigation.

On Saturday, January 30, 2021, officers responded to an unknown trouble call in the McNicoll Avenue and Markham Road area.

It is alleged that:

- three men approached a store entrance and asked the victim, an employee, for assistance

- the men overpowered the victim and forced them into a van

- the men covered the victim’s eyes, bounded their hands and feet with duct tape

- the men physically assaulted the victim while making demands for cash

- the men took jewelry and cash before leaving the victim in the Sandhurst Circle and McCowan Road area, still bound in tape.

Members of the Toronto Police Hold Up Squad commenced an investigation and identified two of the men.

Ramnarraj Rajaratnam, 42, of Markham, is wanted for the following five charges:

1. Robbery with Violence
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Kidnapping
4. Forcible Confinement
5. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

He is described as, 5'7", and 180 lbs.

Kokulanathan Aiythurai, 38, of Toronto, is wanted for the following five charges:

1. Robbery with Violence
2. Disguise with Intent
3. Kidnapping
4. Forcible Confinement
5. Conspiracy to Commit Indictable Offence

He is described as 5'9", and 175 lbs.

Both men are considered dangerous. If seen, do not approach and call 9-1-1.
