The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of arrests made in a shooting investigation.

On Saturday. December 12, 2020, at 4:07 a.m., police attended the Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area for a shooting radio call.

It is alleged that:

- officers located a woman suffering from a gunshot wound

- the woman was transported to hospital

On Monday, July 12, 2021, members of the Gun and Gang Task Force - Centralized Shooting Response Team executed a Criminal Code search warrant at an address in the city of Toronto.

Prior to the search warrant, three men were arrested in a motor vehicle.

It is further alleged:

- two Glock 9mm pistols with over-capacity extended magazines including a drum magazine, ammunition and a quantity of drugs were seized as a result of the investigation

On Monday, July 12, 2021, Rowan Atkins, 32, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Break and Enter
2. Assault
3. Attempt Murder
4. Discharge Firearm with intent to wound
5. Two counts of Possess prohibited or restricted firearm without holding a license
6. Robbery with a firearm
7. Three counts of possess firearm
8. Threaten bodily harm
9. Counselling to commit indictable offence
10. Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule 1 substance
11. Possession of proceeds of crime
12. Possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is unauthorized
13. Two counts of Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
14. Two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
15. Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
16. Two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
17. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
18. Four counts of possession firearm while prohibited

On Monday, July 12, 2021, Jordan Mendez, 28, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
2. Two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
3. Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle
4. Two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
5. Discharge firearm with intent to wound endanger life
6. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
7. Possess firearm while prohibited

On Monday, July 12, 2021, Keante Gayle-Johnson, 23, of Toronto, was charged with:

1. Two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon
2. Two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
3. Two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm in motor vehicle
4. Two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
5. Discharge firearm with intent to wound endanger life
6. Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
7. Two counts of possess firearm while prohibited
8. Fail to comply probation

All three men have been remanded into custody, pending a special bail hearing in the near future.
